Glencairn  is a family run  Bed and Breakfast on the Road to the Isles midway between Mallaig and Arisaig.  We are  dog friendly and are situated in 37 acres of fenced private land over which our guests are free to wander with their pets.

There are two light, well appointed, comfortable en suite bedrooms  each having tea and coffee making facilities, Freesat TV and WiFi;  guests also have the use of a  private lounge, patio and garden for relaxation.


Ground floor room with a single and a double bed : £80/night double or £95/night triple  (children under 10 are free).

First floor room with a king size bed and large balcony : £85/night.

Prices are inclusive of breakfast.

Dogs are allowed in either room free of charge, dog beds or crates can be provided if required.

Guests are asked to arrive between 16.00 and 19.00 hours and depart by 10.00.

Pets are welcome at Glencairn House and stay free of charge in both the B & B and our Self Catering Caravans. Dog beds and crates can be provided if required just let us know in advance. There is a gated garden for sole use of guests and their pets but also 35 acres of stock free ground  on which your pets can be walked.


Breakfast is served in our breakfast room/lounge, facing east with views across the glen it is perfectly situated to make the most of the morning sunshine. Served at a time to suit guests’  between 7.30 and 9 am

We offer a cooked traditional breakfast using locally sourced ingredients as well as eggs from our free range Black Rock Hens and Indian Runner Ducks, other dishes include:

  • Home-made fruit compote
  • Smoke Haddock Kedgeree
  • Eggs Benedict

In addition to the breakfast service you can help yourself to a selection of cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit and fruit juice.

Breakfast is always accompanied by tea and ground coffee, decaffeinated or otherwise, as well as toast and homemade preserves. A selection of herbal and fruit teas is also available.

We are happy to cater for special dietary requirements with advance notice.

For those  with a sweet tooth  fresh home-baking is laid out each day in the lounge for guests to help themselves.
